Community Employment Preparation and Opportunities
The Community Employment Preparation and Opportunities (CEPO) program, The CEPO program based out of the Foster Street is a merger of the CEP and CEO programs, now providing a continuum of individualized services allowing more individuals, increased opportunities to pursue their employments goals. Individual are assessed on an on-going basis through a four-tier system toward greater independence strengthening vocational skills toward the attainment of goals.
The program provides vocational training in a sheltered work environment at site based Heritage facilities and other community based companies. CEPO supports over 100 people with diverse needs; options exist at our clean room operation, various sub-contract work and mailroom. Enclave sites are available at numerous sites. Individuals receive instruction in a variety of work opportunities and are able to explore different jobs in the community. Individuals are also supported to improve and enhance their social and behavioral skills. Part of the CEPO program includes the Heritage Caning Company. This business provides work for 5 craftsmen in canning chairs in a storefront location. The newest component of Heritage Industries is the ACTION Program; a participant driven program, designed to provide a structured environment, with a 2 to 8 ratio for vocational training, social skills/activity groups along with opportunities for community integration. The supported component of the CEPO program provides supports to adults to assess their interest; needs and preferences in helping individuals achieve integrated, competitive employment. Job development, job coaching and transportation are also provided to aid people in achieving these goals.
